The 8 Best Air Fryer Accessories of 2023

Aug 20, 2023

I love my air fryer, and it has completely changed the way I cook in the kitchen. They’re perfect for making lighter versions of delicious, crispy foods like french fries and chicken wings, but they’re also more versatile than people give them credit for. I’ve found that there are a few accessories that make it possible you can cook (or bake) virtually anything in your air fryer, from a personal-sized Margherita Pizza to mini loaves of my Pumpkin Banana Bread.

If you’ve mastered the basics of your air fryer and are ready to try something new, I’ve put together a list of the best air fryer accessories that I personally use and love. As you shop, just be sure to check the dimensions of the different products to make sure they’ll fit properly inside your particular air fryer.

I’ve used the GoWise USA 8-in-1 Air Fryer for more than three years now, and the brand’s accessory kit makes the appliance even more versatile. I don’t think there’s anything I can’t cook in the air fryer with these six tools on hand!

The set comes with a baking pan for things like cake and brownies, as well as a shallower pie or pizza pan. You’ll also get an insert rack, skewer set for kebabs, toasting rack, and silicone resting mat. While they are technically designed for the GoWise air fryer, the accessories will also work perfectly in other air fryer models, so long as the basket has a 3.7-quart capacity or more.

For quick and easier air fryer cleanup, these non-stick liners are a must-have. For just a few dollars, you get a pack of 200, and they come in a few different sizes to fit most air fryer models.

The liners are essentially pre-cut pieces of parchment paper that you put in the bottom of the basket before cooking, but the reason they work so well is thanks to their perforations (a.k.a the little holes all over them). This ensures that air can circulate around the air fry basket so your food is deliciously crisp on all sides. Plus, after you’re done cooking, you can just remove the paper and throw it away for a clean air fryer!

If you’re looking for new dishes to add to your weekly menu, there are over 100 air fryer recipes available on Skinnytaste, but some of my favorites are exclusively available in my two air fryer cookbooks. My first air fryer cookbook, The Skinnytaste Air Fryer Cookbook includes a wide range of breakfast, lunch, and dinner options, plus air fryer desserts and appetizers. It has 75 recipes in total, including meals like Chicken-Vegetable Spring Rolls, Crispy Coconut Shrimp, Korean Pork Lettuce Wraps, and more.

For even more dinner recipes, The Skinnytaste Air Fryer Dinners cookbook has 75 more options to add to your repertoire. Some of my favorites in this book include Jalapeño-Cheddar Turkey Burgers, Tzatziki Fish Tacos, and Loaded Black Bean Nachos — yum!

Egg muffins are the perfect make-ahead breakfast. I love whipping up a batch of my Loaded Egg Muffins or Broccoli and Cheese Egg Muffins to grab on busy days, and you can make the protein-packed bites in the air fryer with these handy little cups. They come in a set of six, and each of the silicone molds has a tab that makes them easy to insert and remove from your air fryer basket. Plus, the flexible silicone material makes it easy to get your egg bites or muffins out of the cups.

Baking a pie in your air fryer? Yes, it’s possible! These cute individual pie pans, which come in a set of four, are the perfect size for most air fryers, and you might even be able to cook two or three at a time if you have a larger model. (They can also be used in the oven or even a toaster oven, if you want!) The pans have a non-stick coating that makes it easy to slide your pie out after baking, and they’ll work perfectly for both savory recipes, like Artichoke Pie, as well as classic dessert pies like Pumpkin Pie.

I always recommend spraying your air fryer basket with oil before cooking, especially if you’re not using a liner. It helps prevent food from sticking, and a few quick spurts on top of your food can help encourage browning, as well! I prefer spraying my oil to not overdo it, and for an alternative to canned cooking sprays, I highly recommend this fillable handy sprayer.

I use it with my favorite olive oil, but you can also fill it with another type of oil, like canola or avocado oil, if you prefer. It sprays evenly for a nice thin coating on your food or pan, and I love that it’s a non-aerosol and propellent-free option for my kitchen.

These mini loaf pans are perfect for baking personal-sized portions of your favorite bread recipes. Each of the little pans is 3 by 2.5 inches, and they’re made from silicone, so it’s easy to pop your loaves out after cooking. Try them with my Zucchini Bread or Banana Nut Bread — just be sure to lower the cooking time to take into account their smaller size.

It can be tricky to get racks or pans out of the small air fryer basket, especially if your pot holders are particularly bulky. If you have a basket-style air fryer, these plate grippers are a great add to your utensil drawer. They have a long, flat head with anti-slip pads on the inside, allowing you to pick up any plate or pan—while keeping your fingers safely away from the hot interior.

You can use them at any angle, too, so they’re just as handy for removing pans from the toaster oven or other kitchen appliance.

I’m the author and recipe developer behind Skinnytaste, which features hundreds of delicious, healthy, family-friendly recipes. In my journey to create lightened up versions of my family’s favorite meals, I fell in love with air frying — it’s the perfect way to get a beautiful crispy texture on food without all the excess oil. In fact, I love these countertop gadgets so much that I’ve written two whole cookbooks dedicated to air frying: The Skinnytaste Air Fryer Cookbook and Skinnytaste Air Fryer Dinners.

The majority of the air fryer accessories recommended in this article are ones that I personally own and use with my GoWISE air fryer. I’ve also included a few additional picks that will help make your air fryer an even more versatile cooking tool on your journey to healthy eating.
